Inevitable by Mhalachai
A late-night run-in with werewolves in the woods outside St. Louis dumps Harry Potter into a whole new world of trouble. Now Anita Blake has to deal with a new charge as well as Death-Eaters come to town.

So another Anita Blake rec and as I said before everything I know about Anita Blake I learned from fanfic, so just a basic knowledge is all you really need for this fic. On the HP side, the primary HP character is Harry although later in the story it follows him to Hogwarts so you'll get to see the other characters. Knowledge through OOTP is needed and then the story incorporates aspect of HBP. I've started and stopped the story so many times over the last few months, but this weekend I finally sat down and read the whole thing (and it is long coming in at over 500,000 words and still a WIP). I've never found fault with the writing which is great! But I will warn you it is high on the angst meter (which I really have to be in the mood for to read, and this weekend I happened to be in the mood). What I love most about this fic is the way Harry first interacts around the Anita Blake characters, and then how those experiences change how he interacts with the HP characters. When you're done, check out Mhalachai's other great stuff, particularly Dawning Light. Don't forget to leave the author feedback.

Hey, thanks so very much for the rec! And for the lovely words :)

And yes, it's a little high on the melodrama. As someone once said, "We're not into subtle"

Hey, thank you for writing it! It's been so long since I've had time to check in on things you've even updated since I posted this rec, and the new chapter is great!
